U.S. Army orders 35 UH-72A Lakota helicopters from Airbus Helicopters

Airbus Helicopters, Inc. recently won a contract valued at approximately $273 million to deliver 35 additional UH-72A Lakota rotary-wing aircraft to the U.S. Army.

Under the terms of the contract,  will build and deliver UH-72A production aircraft, associated technical and flight operator manuals, and program management. The contract is split into two parts: The first will send 17 UH-72A Lakotas to the Initial Entry  mission at Ft. Rucker, while the second will send 18 UH-72A Lakotas for the Observer/Controller mission at the Army’s Combat Training Centers.
