Russian Helicopters Seeks Mi-171A2 Certification in India

Russian Helicopters is expecting Indian certification of its Mi-171A2. Parent company Rostec said earlier this month negotiations had been underway to negotiate the certification procedure with India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

India is intended to be the first customer for the Mi-171A2, a modernized version of the Mi-8/17/171 models. It is equipped with VK-2500PS-03 engines with a FADEC electronic automatic control system and new rotor system.

“It is really symbolic that the Indian company was the first foreign customer that ordered the latest Mi-171A2, and it is the first country where we began the process of validation of the Russian helicopter certificate,” said Andrey Boginsky, general director of Russian Helicopters.
