Russian Helicopters’ first production helicopter Mi-171A2 has completed its first flight at the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant, the company announced on 18 May.
The multirole Mi-171A2 helicopter will be delivered to UTair-Helicopter Services for initial operation in polar regions. The helicopter can operate in highland conditions, at low and high temperatures, high humidity and over water.
Mi-171A2 features about 80 modifications in the design. This includes a new main rotor with all-composite blades as a weight-reduction measure while increasing the propeller thrust by 700kg.
