Russian Helicopters, a subsidiary of Rostec State Corporation has announced the delivery of two Ansat and five Mi-8AMT helicopters to the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK). The helicopters will be used for medical purposes, with the two Ansat helicopters being based in the Moscow region, in the Helipark Podushkino, whilst the Mi-8AMT will soon be sent to the Novosibirsk and Tyumen regions.
“Given our vast geography and a large number of remote areas, the availability of air ambulance services in the Russian Federation is a necessity,” said the General Director of Russian Helicopters, Andrei Boginsky.
Russian Helicopters say that medical aviation units carried out more than 6,000 flights in 2017, with a total of 8,000 patients transported. It added that the new helicopters will help to develop these services across the country.
