Bolivia receives last Super Puma helicopter, hints at future acquisitions

The Bolivian Air Force on 31 May received its last AS 332C1e Super Puma from a 2013 contract with Airbus Helicopters.

The aircraft, numbered FAB-785 and locally named Jatun Puma, arrived from Marseille to Cochabamba on 3 May for reassembly at the 2nd Air Maintenance Service, 2nd Air Brigade, before conducting a series of test flights and then flying to the ‘Red Devils’ Task Force base in Santa Cruz where it will be based.

The aircraft’s official reception was the centrepiece of a Bolivian Military Aviation College (COLMILAV) anniversary, an event that was attended by the Bolivian president, Armed Forces High Command, minister of defence, and others.
